Der originäre Begriff "Hack" stammt vom MIT und bezeichnet einen eleganten, geist- bzw. witzreichen Weg um so ziemlich alles zu tun und bezog sich ursprünglich nicht auf Software. Meistens waren damit anti-autoritäre/anti-etashlishment bzw. linke oder anarchistisch motivierte Aktionen gemeint (Verarschen der Campus-Polizei, Autos auf Dächern parken ...).
