Geplant war eigentlich Linux. Da jedoch ab Kernel 2.6 für die Crypto-Karte (Hifn) nur Treiber für 32 Bit vorlagen, wurde eine Alternative gesucht. Bei FreeBSD gab es den gewünschten Support für 64 Bit. :D
