Christian Prochaska 927af36c58 Volatile_object: align the embedded object 
The space for the embedded object needs to be natively aligned to avoid
alignment errors on ARM.

Fixes #1149.

Norman Feske ca971bbfd8 Move repositories to 'repos/' subdirectory 
This patch changes the top-level directory layout as a preparatory
step for improving the tools for managing 3rd-party source codes.
